I've given two stars based on location, atmosphere and the nice person who served us. Surprisingly good wood fired pizza, a great complement to the excellent wines here.

Save your time and money and go to one of the many other wineries with great views and at least one or two good wines to choose from.

I do have to say we did like their highest price red ($70) and it was possibly worth $35. Oh.and their wines average $40 a bottle and go much higher. Some how they have taken CA grapes (or maybe the lesser quality good Cali wine growers didn't want), shipped them across the USA and then turned them into something not very drinkable. This is not supporting our local economy and growers. I was also very turned off by their importing of California grapes to make their wine. They have obviously spent an incredible amount on the facilities and can see how this would be great for large gatherings. I do realize it is a matter of personal taste but full front tannins and alcohol is never something one looks for. Have been to many wineries in the state of Virginia and I have to say, sadly, the wines were awful at Stone Tower. Given the increasing crowds we felt we had to give it a try. We only live 5 minutes from Stone Tower and have never gone before this one visit in which is the basis for my review.
